Nigeria Records 153 New cases of COVID-19 As Total Exceeds 59,000

COVID-19 cases in Nigeria is now heading towards 60,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases with the total number of infections since the index case on February 27 now 59,001. This follows the confirmation of 153 new infections in 14 states by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, in the last 24 hours.

The states with new Covid-19 cases include Lagos-81; Rivers-21; FCT-11; Ogun-8; Kaduna-7; Oyo-6; Akwa Ibom-5; Osun and Katsina-3 each; Edo, Ebonyi and Nasarawa-2 each; Plateau and Kano-1 each.

Meanwhile, there are 94 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the infection across Nigeria. This brings the total number of successfully treated cases in the country to 50,452.

The Covid-19 national death toll in Nigeria, however, remains 1,112 following report of no new fatality in the last 24 hours.
