30 Killed As Bandits Invade Two Villages In Katsina

At least 30 people were killed after an assault on two villages in Kastina State.

As indicated by reports, the incident occurred on Friday at Tsauwa and Dankar towns in Katsina State.

The ward head of Tsauwa, Salisu Lawal, said residents were preparing for Magrib, the islmaic 7:00pm prayer, when the bandits assaulted.

He stated, “Yesterday (Friday) when we were planning for the Magrib prayer, we heard that crooks were assaulting Dankar town.

“Obscure to us that they were also coming in to this village, we saw them in huge number; some of them trekking, some riding bikes.

“Upon their arrival, they began shooting sporadically from across all areas in the town; they similarly restricted movement of all people in the town.”

Katsina State Police Command affirmed the incident.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Sanusi Buba, who visited the towns, noted that those killed by the assailants were for the mostly elderly women and kids, who couldn’t run while other villagers fled.

Buba revealed that 21 people were killed in Tsauwa town out of which 13 were set on fire while nine were murdered in Dankar.
