Coronavirus: Oyo state govt places residents on high alert

THE uneasiness that trailed the reported case of Coronavirus in Lagos State has made the Oyo State Government swing into action by putting residents of the state on high alert.

This followed an emergency press briefing held by the Ministry of Health in the state, to relieve fears of the residents on outbreak of the ailment in the state.

While briefing newsmen at the weekend, the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Bashiru Bello disclose that there is presently no outbreak of the ailment in the state.

He noted that in spite of the report of an affirmed case of the virus in Lagos State, the disease is presently not inside the region of the state.

Dr. Bello observed that as an organ of a responsive government, the ministry wishes to repeat its commitment towards guaranteeing a malady free Oyo State.”

His words: “Now, the state has put its facilities on high alert with the deployment if adequate resources to all facilities if there should arise an occurrence of unexpected circumstances.”

“In a similar vein, the public is thusly beseeched to resist the urge to panic but ensure exacting adherence to essential cleanliness practices,” he cautioned.
