Ooni of ife, Oyetola, Sultan meet over insecurity in Nigeria

Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has required a superior way to deal with end the security challenges in Nigeria.

He talked on Wednesday in Osogbo at the National Summit on Security in Nigeria.

In participation were conventional pioneers including Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar.

Oyetola said for the country to beat the danger, security agencies must team up with the traditional rulers to “sensitise and encourage the people on providing intelligence” against criminals in their domains.

In his comments, Ogunwusi communicated readiness of the monarchs across the country to partner with leaders and relevant institutions in strengthening security nationwide.

Ooni advised government to “return security matters to traditional rulers for effective and efficient policing at the grassroots


Abubakar upheld tranquil concurrence among Nigerians and assured that monarchs readiness to continue to partner with government to enhance security in the country.

The monarch called for proper upbringing of the young ones and added that “the time had come for all Nigerians to promote peace, unity, and tranquility.”

Other traditional rulers at the event included Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran; Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Adenrele Kiladejo; Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin; Obasaaju of Oweland, Kabba, Obasaju Kehinde.
